    We’re starting a unit on pop culture in my media class, and we have to make a top 10 list about something that relates to the lives of kids at my school. I’m making a list of the most ridiculous things teachers have said.. here are my favourites so far:

    1. “Guys, I’m going to go blind in my right eye if you don’t shut up!”
    2. “One time on my farm in Africa…”
    3. “There are 30 of you and one of me. How am I supposed to teach you all at once?”
    4. “Math would just be easier with six fingers on each hand.”
    5. “That waiter was really friendly with me… you might say he was looking for a cougar!”
    6. “You have to make photosynthesis attractive to first year students. Make it sexy.”
    7. “Everyone pretend you are gifted and bring five pencils to the exam.”
    8. “Some of my best friends are lizards.”
    9. “I think this table was late because they were out smoking… wheat.”

    I need a tenth. I think I may have to make my first ever facebook note.. so many amazing unheard lines from teachers…

I am entirely new to this.. so much so that I'm not really sure what to write here.

Well, I'm a high school senior (even though we don't really call it that in Canada) and I have never been more excited for anything than I am to leave home next year. Someone made me take a personality quiz the other day and it made me choose between reading and music, and I wouldn't do it. They are both huge parts of me. It's never, "good book or a good song?" so much as "a good book while listening to a good song." I multitask a lot. I'm kind of Beatles obsessed, though it's spread to an overall love of that era of music (Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Doors and the likes). I don't know if I could pick a specific kind of book I like, and I could never pick an absolute favourite. I have no idea what I want to be, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to study some combination of History, Poli Sci and Psych next year. My favourite colour is purple, I have an unhealthy love of chocolate, and I want to travel absolutely everywhere, starting as soon as possible. And that's about all I can think of right now..
